Noise Abatement

  • After 15+ years of work, we have eliminated over 1,500 daily train whistles below Panorama Ridge. This was a major quality of life and property value issue for residents, particularly those who live in the southern half of the ridge. This effort took hundreds of hours of volunteer effort.

  • When Highway 10 was expanded, the WPRRA executive met with then Minister of Transportation, Kevin Falcon, to ensure a noise barrier was built along the new highway to isolate residents from increased traffic noise.

  • The WPRRA participated in the Surrey Airspace Task Force which attempted to reduce the noise from aircraft.
