After 15+ years of work, we have eliminated over 1,500 daily train whistles below Panorama Ridge. This was a major quality of life and property value issue for residents, particularly those who live in the southern half of the ridge. This effort took hundreds of hours of volunteer effort.
When Highway 10 was expanded, the WPRRA executive met with then Minister of Transportation, Kevin Falcon, to ensure a noise barrier was built along the new highway to isolate residents from increased traffic noise.
The WPRRA participated in the Surrey Airspace Task Force which attempted to reduce the noise from aircraft.
