Surrey RCMP’s Newton District Office welcomes new Commander

Surrey RCMP News Release

Surrey RCMP would like to acknowledge Sergeant Parmvir (Parm) Prihar as the new District Commander for the detachment’s Newton District Office, located at 7235 137th Street.
Sergeant Prihar brings 21 years of policing experience to Newton, with an extensive background in both patrol and serious crime.
In his new role as District Commander, Sergeant Prihar will be working with his team of officers and support staff along with local residents and business owners to identify and address crime and nuisance issues in Newton.
“I am proud to be part of this community and confident that, with the public’s support, we can make Newton an even better place to live, work and play,” says Sergeant Prihar.
“Sergeant Prihar has an impressive background and is well-suited to play this important role in the Newton community,” says Surrey RCMP Officer in Charge, Chief Superintendent Bill Fordy. “I believe his interpersonal skills and breadth of experience will be an asset to the district and the dedicated and passionate residents of Newton.”
The previous Newton District Commander, Sergeant Marc Searle, is now working with the Community Services Officer at Surrey RCMP’s main detachment.
