2010 AGM well attended
The 2010 AGM of the WPRRA was held on April 28th at Colebrook United Church. Despite the fact that there were no major issues in our community, the event was well attended with over 100 people present.
Presentations were made on emergency preparedness and recycling. There were also updates on development, parks, trains and the Classical Music Society. An election was conducted and a treasurer’s report was given. There was a show-of-hands vote regarding the community’s opinion on secondary suites. The position of the WPRRA has been to support “family" suites but not to support the legalization of “revenue” suites. The first vote was to see if the assembled group supported family suites and about 75% supported this position with none opposed. On the question of revenue suites, nearly 100% of those present supported the WPRRA position with one person opposed.
The new business portion of the meeting gave all those assembled an opportunity to raise new issues and to discuss on-going problems and a lively discussion ensued.
