At 7.30pm April 26 the annual WPRRA AGM was held in Colebrook United Church.
The meeting was well attended with 130 registered voters. Nice to see the great support for our community.
As few items were brought up in regards to Joe Brown Park. One was informing members that there is a an official community plan for the park that was negotiated and agreed upon with the city and the WPRRA over 10 years ago. Although it hasn't come into fruition there is still the desire by our community to see it fulfilled. The item which was of concern was the fact that the city was entertaining a Disc Golf course in Joe Brown Park which was never part of the community plan. As laid out by the members, the WPRRA will continue to lobby for the city to fulfill it's agreed to obligation to the park plan.
There were 10 candidates that were running for seven director positions on the board. After each candidate got a few minutes to speak to the members the voting took place.
Results of the voting are as follows:
On behalf of the board, I would like to thanks all candidates for stepping up and running. I would also like to thank all those members who took time out of their evening to show up and hear what was going on in their community. Together all of us can continue to keep our community safe and clean.
